Portland Mini Trip

As the month of July was ending, Nancy and I embarked on a short three day trip to Portland. It was the first time we had been back to Portland since before COVID. We enjoy visiting Portland for the food and for shopping. Although, we usually do not buy much, we enjoy window shopping in the big city. When we first arrived, the first priority was going downtown to eat at the Deschutes Brewery Public House. We have always enjoyed the great beer and delicious food. Everything we ordered was gluten free, including a great IPA beer. It was a great mid-day meal.

Portland is like a mini San Francisco when it comes to shopping. We started each day by taking the TriMet, Portland's public transit system, from our hotel to downtown. Each morning our first stop was the Stumptown Coffee Roasters. There is no better way to start your morning than with a good cup of coffee and this is one of the best. In Portland, if you want a great cup of coffee go to Stumptown, forget about Starbucks.

After our morning coffee, we would go walking around the Pearl District in downtown Portland and do some window shopping. One store that is always on the top of our list is Patagonia Clothing. It is one of our favorite stores for purchasing outdoor clothing and gear. We also visited Columbia Sportswear, but Patagonia is the one we prefer.

I have included some photographs of Portland that I took on the last day of our trip. I hope you enjoy them.
