Spring Trip 2025 to Convict Lake

In the week preceding the Memorial Day weekend, we took our annual trip to Convict Lake. Even though this is our second trip to Convict Lake, I feel that it is fast becoming an annual event for the Frank family. Nancy and the girls just love swimming, hiking, and visiting this area south of Mammoth Lakes. We hiked around the lake (about 3.5 miles), the girls went swimming and we drove into Mammoth Lakes to eat our main meal each day. It was a great time.

Last year was our first year visiting Convict Lake. We chose a cabin that was small, really small. I would call it the “Motel 6” of cabins. This year we rented a different cabin that was much larger. I would label it the “Hyatt Place” of cabins. This cabin was spacious and met all of our needs. It was definitely much nicer.

Both Nancy and I purchased iphones last October. Previously we had been using an android phone and were not happy with the ui (user interface). We needed time to make that transition and I can say that Nancy loves her iphone. One of the first things I wanted to do was learn how to take a good quality photo with the iphone. But we have been busy this year and that was put on the proverbial ‘back burner’. Convict lake was going to be the time for learning how to take a good photo. (Just a quick note – I am NOT into selfies!) The attached gallery shows some of the photos that I took with my iphone. I also took my Canon camera and took photos with it, but those photos are not in this photo gallery.
